The comprehensive fog study characterized the conditions under which widespread and localized fog events occur, determined the contributions of natural and industrial water vapor sources to the reduced visibility, and offered a mitigation strategy to reduce the industrial contribution.

The potential for transport and deposition of radionuclides down river during stable drainage flow conditions was a concern. This was investigated using models that accomodate vertical variations of horizontal winds and the resultant shearing of effluent concentrations.
